Cornhole Goes Legit

| | Comments (2)

At our FeedBurner party recently (photos here), there were a lot of people that weren't really aware of the Midwestern movement to make Cornhole/Baggo a household game for everyone to play. I brought my boards, set them up, and preached the Baggo gospel for all to hear...

I've been a fan of the game for a quite a while -- ever since I learned about the game while on a weekend visit to Indiana with my family -- and Boing Boing has finally joined the frey.

If you're wondering what this silly game is...

Think horseshoes that you can play while drunk. Think Jarts that won't impale your skull on their way back to the ground.

Brendan & Liz Tying that Knizot

April, Steve & Liz

The Wedding Kitty

The ladies...they like Brendan...

Don't look -- Brendan's smoking a cigar!

Wait a second here...I'm married now?

Last Saturday, Katie and I went to Brendan & Liz's wedding in Downers Grove. We were all good friends in college and we really haven't seen them or corresponded with them in quite a while, so we were definitely honored to get the invite. Our other good friends from college, Steve & April, were in attendance also and served as our drinking buddies for the night.

The ceremony was beautiful, the weather was perfect except for the rain that completely soaked us at about 7pm, and we had a great time at the wedding.

Congrats again, guys!

6:51am - "Yo, your SEO is through the roof, bitch!" -- Justin

The past two weeks have been a busy few at FeedBurner -- my manager has been on his honeymoon -- and it's certainly brought me up to speed 150% quicker than any training course or manual ever could. Try putting yourself in your manager's shoes for two weeks after only being at a company for two months; yep, that'll do it!

I'll be catching up on internet stuff today and posting a bunch of goodies over at Live Music Blog, so stay tuned for that shit.

In the meantime, enjoy some links...

...is terrible!

I don't care if you're friggin' MySpace, Salesforce.com, some random podcaster, a band, anyone -- I don't care -- your website deserves to be shot. Maimed. Tortured. Shown on Nightly News as an example of everything that's wrong with the world.

Man -- I feel better now.

New Car Love

Mark's New Car

Mark's New Car #2

My brother-in-law just picked up one beauty of a vehicle as part of his migration to Tempe, AZ from Raleigh, NC.

Well -- I'll be honest -- I can't say I'm not jealous.

Off to work again...

My cat woke me up this morning with the loudest yelling / meowing you'll ever...friggin'...hear...

To add insult to that, we're out of coffee at our home today and I'm in dire need of some...NOW!

Have a great week at work this week!

From Clickz.com...

"Geffen Records is turning to RSS feeds, also known as Web feeds, to improve its online marketing and artist promotion efforts.

The record label, part of Vivendi's Universal Music Group, plans to unveil a redesigned Web site which will include FeedBurner-managed RSS feeds for more than 50 of its artists. All of the feeds will integrate with third-party sites like MySpace and iTunes using FeedBurner's FeedFlare service. Using the FeedFlare APIs (application programming interfaces), feeds will include direct links to rate albums at iTunes, join a band's group at MySpace, or explore related music at Pandora, for example."

Maybe I'm new to the whole API thing but it absolutely boggles my mind that FeedFlare and it's open API allows for anyone to create anything as an action on a feed item -- it's functionality is literally never-ending.

"Geffen also plans to advertise on the FeedBurner Ad Network to promote album launches, concert tours, and other promotions. The company is one of many content publishers turning to feeds to both distribute content and advertise that content to an attractive audience, Klau said. One example is motor oil company Castrol, which created a racing-themed podcast and advertised it on the FeedBurner Network."

Great, Lively Weekend

|

Man, it's been a busy coupla weeks around the 'ol Ward household here...

Friday night, FeedBurner hosted a little party to break-in our new office space right next door. Check out the photos here. We had a blast! I was the music man for the night and I'm sorry to report that it didn't turn out nearly as successful as I would have hoped. I tried for the "less is more" approach to organization so I think that's part of the problem. Lesson learned.

Then, we went to Sheffield's on Sheffield to meet up with some friends of ours that we had not seen in a long time. It was good, but we were pooped so we didn't stay too long. We got to see Katherine, Sarah (& Aaron), and Britt all together -- it was great to catchup as much as we could.

Saturday night, I caught a rip-roaring Tea Leaf Green show and got to hang out with Andy Gadiel for a small portion of it. That was pretty cool for me.

I got some new clothes, got tons of work done (on the blog, too), so all in all, a great weekend!
